GETTING TO KNOW ABOUT TILES

Ceramic tile flooring, interior design tiles, apache tiles

Nowadays in the modern world we get different types of tiles in different colors and different prices. We have a wide choice to choose the best to fit in our budget. Some tiles are thick and some are thin. Thick tiles are used for the flooring and thin ones for the walls. If we paste tiles to half or three fourths of the wall it gives a rich look to the rooms.. Always choose dark colors for the bathroom floors and matching light tiles for the walls. They sell some borders to go with them the borders really blend with the color and the design. By using the border the look gets enhanced many times.

There are different types of tiles. They are spartek, marble, granite, marbonite. Spartek and granite and marbonite come as polished tiles. Where as marbles have to be laid and then polished. They give shine only after being polished. Spartek are good for kitchen and bathroom. They come in different sizes. The price varies according to the size.

Marbles come in different sizes the bigger the size the costly they are. Marbles have to be laid and then polished with machines. By polishing two or three times they become shiny.

Granites are easy to install. Since once laid the work is over. They also come in different shades and color. Maintaining these floors is easy. They have to be cleaned with a wet mop everyday to remove the dust lying in it. It does not need any polishing. In the long run if the polish goes off then the whole tile has to be removed and replaced. But the marbles are not of that quality. If we think it needs a polishing we can do it at any time.

Bathroom tiles come in different colors with decorative borders. Sometimes contrasting colors are used for the floor and wall to give a big look. Depending on our taste we can choose the best for us according to our need and our budget. The cost varies from company to company.

The quality is very difficult to determine at the initial stages while buying marbles since they are not polished first. Only after polishing the finished effect will come into the picture. But we can look into other people’s houses that have used the same marble and decide which type we want. Even in show rooms they have some finished marbles.

While buying granite they pour water to see the finished effect. These type of flooring is best for hot countries like India where the whole year is summer and we need to clean the floor with water everyday to avoid dust.
