Wooden flooring gives a rich look to the house. Installing wooden planks and polishing is a tradition in cold countries. Hard wood like maple, wild cherry, beech etc are hard wood. They may be costly but are durable and don’t get spoiled easily if used with special care.

Engineered wood are artificially made wood. Thin layers of wood are pasted together to different thickness. This wood looks good and can be used for partition. If it soaks in water for some time it bloats and breaks.
The board width varies according to the thickness of the tree we use. If thick wood is used we get thick planks of wood. It is difficult to get good thick wood. The thick wood is dearer than the thin wood.

The color of the wood also varies from wood to wood. Some other types of wood is the High density wood pulp is pressed hard to make wooden planks. This wood is also very soft and spoils if soaked in water. The choice of wood is ours. Since it is a life time investment it is better to go for a costly variety rather than cheap ones.

Polishing the wooden planks frequently will help to keep the wood in good condition. Polish is one way of preventing pests from spoiling the wood. Pest protection medicine can be injected into the flooring to prevent them from spoiling the floor.

Wooden floor needs to be maintained properly to get durability and if proper wood is not used it will get chipped and damaged even if a small article falls on it. Be cautious and don’t drop anything or drop water on the floor.
Prevention from sunlight is also important since it weakens the color and it becomes pale. They have special coloring which can be mixed with varnish before polishing. Shop around and buy wood according to your budget.
